This is a great article that focuses on the need of training and development, emphasising the need for both companies' and workers' growth. Soft skills development is one area where employees need to improve. An important areas in training could be the focus on how companies may improve their performance strategically by enhancing the development of soft skills. What specific steps or initiatives can be done forward to develop these soft skills?
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment Shehan. To develop the soft skills organizations can issue a skills assessment to identify training needs and ask managers for their input about skills gaps. Moreover, organizations can provide employees with opportunities for practice and reflection and also can use a learning management system (LMS).
DeleteYes, Agree with you Mahesh. Employees may resign from their job after getting training. It will be risk for the organization. To prevent that, organization should understand what employees are really motivated. It is important to make sure employees are getting their breaks in and that the hard-working employees get recognized and matching the market wage for the employees in industry. Moreover, it important to try to offer some different benefit that the competition doesn’t have to make the employee want to stay.
ReplyDeleteIn today’s competitive environment, continuous improvement through training is essential for an organization’s success. Employee training and development programs are no longer a luxury process. they are critical to the success of your organization and its employees. So training is worth the investment because replacing talents is far more expensive than retaining existing ones.
ReplyDeleteYes, agree with you Bhagya. Training enables the employees to develop their skills within the organization and hence naturally helps to increase the organization’s market value, earning power of the employees and job security of the employees. Training moulds the employee’s attitude and helps them to achieve a better cooperation within the organization. Training and Development programs improve the quality of work-life by creating an employee supportive workplace (Kulkarni, 2013).
